THE GALAXY DRESS

This celestially inspired dress is created from fabric which has been hand dyed using a resist method called shibori. To begin, the black fabric is bound and placed into a bath which slowly pulls away colour. Genevieve removes the fabric, unties and rebinds it, again placing it within the bath. This process is repeated multiple times until the desired effect is reached. The dress is then draped by hand being mindful to incorporate the shibori pattern into the design. Lastly, the piece is sewn, both by hand and machine. The enchanting fabric is perfectly balanced with this clean and simple cut.
