THE LANG DRESS
This airy and romantic dress is hand draped and sculpted using a beautiful silk organza. The organza in this piece has been hand dyed using a traditional, resist dye method called shibori. To create the resist for this piece Genevieve tightly winds string around the fabric onto a base, she then gathers the bound fabric which will create a pattern once dyed. Instead of applying colour, a remover is used to gently pull dye out of the fabric resulting in the striking effect you see. The dress is then draped and sculpted onto the top yoke (the area containing the neckline and armholes), which is the only portion that has been machine sewn, the remainder of the piece is hand sewn.
This piece is one-of-a-kind, hand dyed, hand sculpted and hand sewn by Genevieve Graham. This dress has been sold, to order a similar version or to make an inquiry, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org
