OCEANUS SHIBORI DRESS
This aqueous dress highlights Genevieve's affinity for hand dyeing and her connection to earth toned hues. First, a large square of linen is hand dyed using a traditional method called shibori, shibori is a resist dye method, meaning you prevent the dye from reaching all of the fabric. To create a resist for this particular piece, Genevieve used a series of folds which were tightly wrapped. The fabric was then dyed twice with two different coloured dye baths to create the ethereal end result. The dyed square piece of linen is then draped on the dress-form to create the dress, without the use of patterns, and finally the entire piece is hand sewn using a needle and thread in place of a machine.
This piece is one-of-a-kind, hand dyed, hand sculpted and hand sewn by Genevieve Graham. This dress has been sold, to order a similar version or to make an inquiry, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org
